If you’ve been watching how the world is changing lately, you’ve probably noticed that the old ideas of "the perfect move to Spain" are shifting. For years, everyone just headed straight for the crowded, scorching hot southern coasts. But lately, a different kind of crowd, remote workers, founders, retirees, and families who love space, great food, and crisp air, is looking North.
They are discovering Galicia. And honestly, we don’t blame them.
We set up BLU right here in the coastal city of A Coruña to help international buyers make this exact transition. But we didn't want to build just another stiff, transactional real estate agency. We wanted to build the friendly, fiercely protective team we wish we had when we first arrived.
From London to the Atlantic Coast
Our story is deeply personal. Our founder was born and raised in London to Galician parents, spending decades navigating busy global markets before making the conscious choice to pack up and move to the Galician coast.
Living and working daily in A Coruña, we know exactly what it feels like to move your entire life across borders. We know the excitement of finding a centuries-old stone home or a sleek apartment by the urban beach, but we also know the sheer headache of dealing with Spanish paperwork from thousands of miles away.
We built BLU to be the ultimate shortcut. We wanted to combine our love for this incredible region with a sharp, bilingual, stress-free service that makes you feel entirely at home before you even land.
Why We’re Not Your Average Real Estate Agents
Here is the honest truth about buying a house in Spain: traditional estate agents work for the seller. Their job is to sell you whatever house is on their books, as fast as possible, for the highest price.
We think that’s a terrible way to buy a home.
While we do keep a small, privately curated portfolio of gorgeous local properties we absolutely love, we are first and foremost your advocates. If your dream place isn't in our collection, we switch and become your personal house hunters. We scour the entire market, including hidden, off-market listings that never make it to the internet, to find the right fit.
More importantly, we are your eyes and ears on the ground. We drive out to properties to check and inspect, and work side-by-side with trusted local lawyers to make sure there are no hidden debts or messy inheritance issues before you sign anything. If a house has a problem, we’ll tell you straight up. We actively look for reasons not to buy a property until we find the one that is absolutely perfect for you.
A Smooth Landing
Of course, getting the keys is only half the battle. Moving your life means getting your tax numbers (NIE), sorting out local bank accounts, and registering at the local town hall. It might also mean navigating Spain's new Digital Nomad Visa or the Non-Lucrative Visa.
We handle all of that for our property clients. We orchestrate the lawyers, sort out the utility contracts, set up your internet, and can even introduce you to the best private schools and local healthcare brokers.
